TWO EVENINGS OF COLLABORATIONS HOSTED BY UNITED PALACE THEATRE AND HIGHER GROUND

Two different nights of collaborations by Higher Ground Artists with the United Palace Theatre as their glorious backdrop. The UPT "Lobby Series" showcases local artists performing music, dance, spoken word and other art forms. The series is an important way for local artists to share work with neighbors and try out new material. The performances are family-friendly and free, though RSVP is required and seating is limited to 125ppl.

ABOUT THE UNITED PALACE THEATRE

4140 BROADWAY AT WEST 175TH STREET

United Palace Theatre opened as the Loew's 175th Street Theatre in 1930 as a vaudeville house and deluxe movie theatre.  It was purchased, and preserved, by Rev. Ike in 1969 for his congregation. Upon Rev. Ike's passing in 2009 his son Xavier, a life-long musician, assumed control of the Palace. In 2012 his dream of creating an arts and cultural center by incorporating the United Palace of Cultural Arts (UPCA) as an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit. UPCA uplifts, educates and unites the Northern Manhattan community and beyond through cultural arts at the majestic United Palace, which is Manhattan's 4th largest theatre.
